How to Change Sound Settings on Windows

Adjusting the Default Playback Device

  1. Click on the Start Menu and open Settings (⚙️).
  2. Go to System > Sound.
  3. Under Output, choose your preferred playback device (e.g., Speakers, Headphones).
  4. Adjust the Master Volume using the slider.

Changing Input (Microphone) Settings

  1. In Settings > Sound, scroll down to Input.
  2. Select your microphone from the list.
  3. Click Device Properties to adjust volume or test the mic.

Troubleshooting Sound Issues

  • Ensure the correct playback device is selected.
  • Check physical connections (wired or Bluetooth).
  • Run the Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Sound > Troubleshoot under Output.
