How to Change Sound Settings on a Chromebook

Adjusting Volume

  1. Click the Clock (bottom-right corner) to open Quick Settings.
  2. Use the Volume Slider to adjust system volume.

Changing Output (Speakers, Headphones, or Bluetooth)

  1. Click the Clock > Settings ⚙️.
  2. Navigate to Sound under Device.
  3. Select your Audio Output (Internal Speakers, Headphones, Bluetooth).

Adjusting Microphone Settings

  1. Go to Settings > Sound > Input.
  2. Choose the microphone you want to use.
  3. Adjust the Microphone Volume slider.

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure your headphones/speakers are plugged in.
  • Restart your Chromebook if audio is not working.
  • Check permissions if an app (e.g., Google Meet) can’t use your mic.
