Entering Grades for the Assignment

Modified on Tue, 11 Feb at 8:12 PM

Once the new assignment is created, follow these steps to enter student grades:

  1. Locate the Assignment Column

    • The new assignment appears as a column in the gradebook.
    • Each row represents a student.
  2. Click on a Cell to Edit a Grade

    • Click inside the corresponding cell under the new assignment.
    • Enter the student's score (e.g., "85.00").
  3. Auto-Save the Grade

    • When you click outside the cell or press Enter, the grade is automatically saved to the database.
  4. Verify Weighted Average Calculation

    • The "Average" column updates automatically based on the new grades and assignment weights.

Note: Instead of Numerical grade amounts, you can enter in the following codes, however your administrator can enable/disable and add more options. We'll refer to these as "Grade Key-Codes" moving forward.

The default enabled Grade Key-Codes are:
NOF - Not Finished
IP - In Progress
NTI - Not Turned In (Typically = 0% in the gradebook scheme)
ABS - Absent, a placeholder
UFE - Use Final Exam grade
