Connecting to FACTS/RenWeb

Impulse Talons supports integration with FACTS/RenWeb, allowing schools to sync student, course, and grading data. However, this is a paid module, and users must contact Frozen Lake LLC Sales to enable access.


Step 1: Request Access to the RenWeb API Module

  1. Contact Frozen Lake LLC Sales at sales@frozenlake.net.
  2. Provide the reference ID: RW01-TALONS.
  3. Once your request is approved, you will receive API credentials and activation details.

Step 2: Obtain RenWeb API Credentials

  1. Log into your RenWeb Admin Account.
  2. Navigate to the RenWeb API Portal.
    • Contact RenWeb Support if you do not have access.
  3. Click “Generate API Keys”and provide the required details:
    • Application Name: (e.g., Impulse Talons Integration)
    • Purpose: (e.g., Syncing student and grade data)
  4. Once approved, RenWeb will generate:
    • API Key
    • API Secret

Step 3: Configure Impulse Talons to Use the API Keys

  1. Log into Impulse Talons at https://talonsweb.com/.
  2. Navigate to Admin Settings > Integrations > RenWeb API.
  3. Enter the following:
    • RenWeb API Key
    • RenWeb API Secret
  4. Click Save & Authenticate.

Step 4: Set Up Data Synchronization

  1. In Impulse Talons, go to Integration Settings.
  2. Select RenWeb Sync Options(choose what data to sync):
    • Students & Rosters
    • Courses & Schedules
    • Grades & Attendance
  3. Click Enable Sync.
  4. Run a test sync to verify data is importing correctly.

Step 5: Verify the Integration

  1. Go to Integrations > RenWeb Sync Status in Impulse Talons.
  2. Check if users, courses, and grades are being imported successfully.
  3. If needed, run a manual sync by clicking “Sync Now”.

Haven't purchased the module yet?

Invalid API Key or Secret?

  • Double-check the API Key and API Secret entered in Impulse Talons.
  • Ensure your RenWeb API access is enabled by contacting RenWeb support.

Data Not Syncing?

  • Make sure your RenWeb account has the correct permissions to access API data.
  • Try disabling and re-enabling the integration.
