Connecting to Schoology

Impulse Talons supports integration with Schoology, allowing seamless access to courses, assignments, and user data. To connect, you will need API credentials from Schoology's Developer Portal.

Step 1: Obtain Schoology API Keys

1. Log into your Schoology Admin Account.
2. Navigate to Schoology Developer Portal:
   • https://developers.schoology.com/
3. Click “Create an Application”and provide:
   • Application Name (e.g., Impulse Talons Integration)
   • Description (e.g., Syncing user data between Schoology and Impulse Talons)
   • Website URL (e.g., https://talonsweb.com/)
4. Once approved, Schoology will generate:
   • API Key
   • API Secret

Step 2: Configure Impulse Talons to Use the API Keys

1. Log into Impulse Talons at https://talonsweb.com/.
2. Go to Admin Settings > Integrations > Schoology API.
3. Enter the following details:
   • API Key
   • API Secret
4. Click Save & Authenticate.

Step 3: Grant Permissions in Schoology

1. Schoology will prompt you to authorize Impulse Talons.
2. Click Allow Accessto grant permission for:
   • User Profile Sync
   • Course & Assignment Sync
   • Gradebook Data Access (if enabled)
3. Once approved, the integration will be active.

Step 4: Verify the Integration

1. In Impulse Talons, go to Integrations > Schoology Sync Status.
2. Check if users, courses, and assignments are being imported successfully.
3. Run a manual sync if needed by clicking “Sync Now”.

Troubleshooting & Support

❌ Invalid API Key or Secret?

• Double-check the API Key and API Secret entered in Impulse Talons.
• Make sure you are using Admin Credentials in Schoology.

❌ Data Not Syncing?

• Ensure Schoology API permissions are enabled.
• Try disabling and re-enabling the integration.
