Installing the Terminal Software

The Retail Application Environment (RAE) POS Browser is a Microsoft ClickOnce application that allows terminals to access and operate within Frozen Lake’s Retail Application Environment. Before installing, ensure your system meets the requirements.

Step 1: Check System Requirements

Before installing the RAE POS Browser, make sure the following components are installed:

✅ .NET Framework 4.8.1

• Download from Microsoft: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework
• Install and restart your computer if required.

✅ Microsoft Edge WebView2

• Download from Microsoft: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/
• Install and restart your computer if required.

Step 2: Download the POS Browser Installer

1. Open a web browser (Edge, Chrome, or Firefox).
2. To Install, please contact us for the installation files.
3. Click the “Install” button to start the installation.

Step 3: Run the ClickOnce Installer

1. A prompt will appear asking if you want to install the application.
2. Click “Run” or “Install” (depending on your browser).
3. The installer will automatically download and configure the application.

Step 4: Launch the POS Browser

1. Once the installation is complete, the RAE POS Browser will launch automatically.
2. If it does not open, go to:
   • Start Menu > Search for "POS Browser" and open it.

Step 5: Configure the Terminal

1. If prompted, enter the Terminal WebURL (provided by your administrator).
2. Ensure the terminal is connected to Ground Control (https://groundcontrol.frozenlake.one).
3. The terminal should now be registered and ready to use.

Troubleshooting & Support

❌ Application won’t install?

• Ensure .NET Framework 4.8.1 and Microsoft Edge WebView2 are installed.
• If using Google Chrome, install the ClickOnce extension from the Chrome Web Store.

❌ Application won’t open?

• Restart your computer and try again.
• Ensure you have the latest Windows Updates installed.
